With its 8th edition coming up - on November 6, at the emblematic LX Factory - the Lisbon Data & AI Forum 2024 will be one of the most impactful Data and Artificial Intelligence events of the year, bringing together the sector's leading experts in one place.
This forum has established itself as an essential space for discussing and sharing knowledge and experiences. It features renowned speakers and round tables with experts and leaders from major companies. This year, the event promises to be even more innovative, focusing on bridging the gap between the most advanced technological innovations and their real-life applications, transforming various industries globally.
Sponsorships and news
This year's novelties include new sponsors, who further reinforce the event's importance on the innovation and technology scene. Our sponsors this year are RedHat, Celonis, Qlik, and IBM. These strategic partnerships confirm the Lisbon Data & AI Forum's commitment to providing high-quality content, innovation, and exclusive networking opportunities for its participants.
Keynotes Highlights
The event will be marked by the Opening Keynote by Luís Gonçalves, Director of Data & AI at Noesis, who will share valuable insights in his keynote "How AI can destroy your company?" warning about the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, often done without a clear strategy. Although AI promises great benefits, many companies make mistakes such as overestimating their capabilities and neglecting data governance and strategic planning. The presentation will advocate a critical pause to ensure successful implementation, alignment with business processes, and focus on the long term. Case studies show how AI can be transformative, but without a careful approach, it can create more problems than solutions.
Another unmissable highlight will be the presentation by Frank Giroux, Manager of Digital Transformation at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, with a talk entitled "Beyond the hype: Realizing LLMs Potential at Bayer Supply Chain Management". He will provide an in-depth look at how large language models (LLMs) are transforming supply chain management in the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, we will be joined by Mina Boström Nakicenovic, Chief Technology Officer at FlightRadar24, who will also contribute a keynote on "From Raw Aviation Data, through Business Value, to Contributions to Humanity". Mina, who leads one of the world's most recognized flight tracking platforms, will share his experience on the role of data and AI in aviation.
A new addition to the program is special guest Gabor Harsanyi, Head of M&CR Data Office at Ericsson. With extensive experience in driving innovation through data-driven strategies, he will share his perspective on how to drive the first stages of data strategy in his talk: "Skip the first draft of your data strategy - go straight to V2!". It will be a rewarding presentation where he will bring practical examples of how Ericsson optimizes operations and improves business performance using advanced analytics and actionable insights.

An Unparalleled Networking Opportunity
"The Lisbon Data & AI Forum is today the major reference event on Data and Artificial Intelligence in Portugal. The 2024 edition will once again break all records and raise the level of content and discussion.
This event was born 8 years ago out of the need to bring the topic of Business Intelligence to the agenda of companies in Portugal. At the time, we launched the Lisbon BI Forum in partnership with Qlik and were eminently focused on BI technology and solutions. In 2019, we felt that this objective had been "fulfilled," and we reinvented the concept and the event, renaming it the Lisbon Data & AI Forum.
We wanted to look at Data more holistically to integrate the topic of Artificial Intelligence, and we did this long before all the hype we've seen around AI in the last two years. The aim was also to talk less and less about technology and tools and to focus on organizations and their challenges. To create an actual Forum where the foremost IT leaders from the largest companies in Portugal could meet and share insights about their organizations' transformation journeys." Said Ricardo Rocha, Managing Director - North America & Head of Global Marketing.
